Hi, I’m Hayley! Welcome to my blog.
I am currently a Sport and Exercise Psychologist in Training with a background in mental health and I have created this space to explore something that I find very interesting: how people think, feel and perform - both in sport and exercise and in everyday life.

Over the years, I’ve seen the same pattern over and over again: we focus so much on doing that we forget to pay attention to the mind doing it. Whether someone is trying to improve their sporting performance or trying to build a consistent exercise routine, the psychological side matters more than most people realise.
This Substack is my way of sharing what I’m learning as I go - the tools, ideas and the small shifts that can make training, performance and wellbeing feel more sustainable and more human.
What you can expect here:
Sport and exercise psychology: the skills that help athletes and exercisers show up, stay motivated and handle pressure.
Mental health in performance and everyday life - because nobody performs well when they are running on empty.
Therapy-informed tools: explained simply, with examples you can actually use.
Reflections from my training journey - what I’m noticing, what’s challenging me and what’s surprising me along the way.
My goal is not to give perfect answers. I’m here to learn out loud - and hopefully offer something that feels grounding, practical and relatable.
Why now?
I have wanted to write for a long time but I wanted to feel “ready” and “more prepared”. I realised that readiness never comes, you only become ready by doing the thing!
So this is me doing the thing.
Sharing what I know and what I don’t. Exploring what it means to support performance in a way that actually supports the athlete behind it.
If you’re here…
… whether you’re an athlete, exerciser or someone who’s curious about improving the quality of your life, I’m glad to have you with me.
I hope this space becomes a place where you can take a breath, learn something useful, or maybe see your own training or wellbeing a little differently.
Thank you for reading - truly.
Hayley
